People Manager Overview (Beta)

The People Manager, located within the new staff experience, is the single place where staff can view data related to people in the MC ecosystem. Updates roll out often as we refine the Beta release. If you have specific feedback, please include the version number located at the bottom of the left-hand navigation.

Overview

Currently, located under the "Overview" top navigation you will find a set of familiar tools as well as newer versions of reports as they are created. Please take note of the color-coded key at the top of the tables that indicate where we are in the process of replacing the old with the new.

Search for a user

We've made searching for users and their information easier. From the "Search" top navigation you will be directed to the new Search Tool.

There are two ways to find a user record:

  1. Use the search box to search for a user by name or email. Click the result you want to open that user record
  2. Scan the report to find the user you need. Click the filter button in the top right above the report to filter by a range of values. Click the user record link to open the user record.

All Staff users can see user records without exception.

Each user has a record split into 5 sections:

  1. Summary is a list of the most recent role grants the user received in the past 12 months.
  2. Personal Information contains a user's basic info (name, email, etc.) but also contains sub-sections for demographics and contact info.
  3. Companies displays which companies this user is a team member of.
  4. Participation shows all role grants and user labels a user has.
  5. Notes displays all notes any staff person has left about this user. Notes are only visible to staff in this interface.
Note: User records are not currently editable in the BETA release.

Tools

In this release, we've surfaced some commonly used staff tools to help make your job easier. When you look up a user record you may notice a few new things.

Participation labels

Each record will have a participation label to the right of the user's name.

There are currently three labels, with the plan for more in future releases.

As seen below, this user is participating currently as an expert. Their email has been exposed, as has their user ID and the date on which the account was created.

To quick copy their email to your clipboard, simply click the grey link button next to the email.

Password Management

We often receive requests from users regarding their password. As we do not store raw password data, we cannot retrieve their original password for them, but we can help initiate a password change/reset.

At the top right of the user record page you will see a grey button labeled, "Reset Password". Clicking that will open a pop-up that looks like the one below.

Performing this action on a user's account will send an email to the address associated with the account prompting them to create a new password.

Masquerade

Staff can now masquerade directly from the user record.

Located next to the "reset password" button is the "Masquerade" button.

Once you click that, a pop-up will appear, as seen below.

The rules and restrictions around masquerading are the same as they are in the current tool, masquerading via the directory. For a refresher on the mini-masquerade feature, please refer back to the help doc, HERE.
